THE MIGHTY DUCKS HOLD "RED KETTLE KICKOFF" FOR THE SALVATION ARMY ORANGE COUNTY

The Mighty Ducks and The Salvation Army Orange County kickoff the holiday season with a pre-game "Red Kettle Kickoff" ceremony Friday, November 22, 7 p.m. at The Pond. Mighty Ducks player Steve Rucchin will present the first contribution to the Kettle and Christmas program to Salvation Army Orange County Coordinator, Captain Lee Lescano.

The familiar Red Kettle and bell ringing has been a Salvation Army tradition for over 100 years that started in San Francisco's Barbary Coast.

Under the banner "Sharing is Caring" the Red Kettle symbolizes that "Need Knows No Season" in assisting people. The money received in the Kettles help support the Army's programs throughout the year.

Last Christmas, in Orange County alone, over 25,000 individuals were assisted by The Salvation Army with food, toys and a safe place to sleep.
