THE SALVATION ARMY ORANGE COUNTY
ASSISTS THOUSANDS IN NEED AT CHRISTMAS HEADQUARTERS

Anaheim, CA -- The Salvation Army in Orange County will distribute food and toys to thousands in need for Christmas through their Christmas Headquarters at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. The “Adopt-A-Family,” “Angel Tree” as well as the General Distribution programs operate out of the Stadium in the Field Level Exhibition Hall.

The Salvation Army provides help to needy families who applied for assistance in November. Last year in Orange County, The Salvation Army General Distribution programs provided for over 13,000 men, women and children during the Christmas season.

The “Adopt-A-Family” program is providing for 150 families, which represents almost 750 people. Individuals, civic groups or businesses are given an adopted family of whatever size they choose. They then provide food, clothing, toys or other needed items for specific members of that family. The distribution day for the “Adopt-A-Family” program is on Saturday, December 20, beginning at 8:00 a.m.

The “Angel Tree” gifts for over 4600 children are given by 77 individuals, stores or business locations throughout Orange County. A child’s first name and gift suggestions are given out and those items purchased, then distributed on the General Distribution days at the warehouse.

The two General Distribution days at The Salvation Army’s Christmas Headquarters are Thursday, December 18 and Monday, December 22 starting at 8:00 a.m. Angel Stadium of Anaheim is located at 2000 Gene Autry Way, Anaheim. Use only the Orangewood Street parking lot entrance. For further information call Jon Henderson at 714.832.7100 ext.228. or email him at Jon.Henderson@usw.salvationarmy.org
