WELCOME
Welcome Letter, 2007 website
Dear Friends,
Jesus’ prayer for His people, simply called “The Lord’s Prayer,” has been probably the most recited Christian prayer for over 2000 years. This prayer, part of
“The Sermon on the Mount,” lays a foundation for life, educating us in the way we should live our daily lives
and in our relationships with others.
Through prayer all things are possible and ours are being constantly answered. The Salvation Army in Orange County is blessed with a steady growth in many service areas due to your generous support.
With the assistance and resources of our Advisory Board, The Army is moving ahead to realize a fourth Transitional Housing site located on the former El Toro Air Base. This site will join our Buena Park, Santa Ana and Tustin shelter/housing program locations.
We want to thank Angels Baseball management for providing us with a much needed Christmas Headquarters at Angel Stadium. This enabled us to hold our annual Christmas distribution for low-income families at a very well located facility.
There has been growth in attendance at our Youth Centers. The Anaheim Red Shield Center’s renovation project is forging ahead. “The Creator’s Corner” preschool is again at capacity with a very long waiting list. The Pioneer School of Music has witnessed a rising enrollment.
All of the above has been accomplished with your faithful contributions of time, talent and financial resources.
This reminds us of Jesus’ own words in John 15:8 -- “So likewise, you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded to do, say, ‘We unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.’”
Our prayer of Thanksgiving goes out to each of you who support the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army in the 34 Orange County communities.
God bless you,
Majors Lee and Michele Lescano
