MICHAEL REAGAN TO SPEAK
AT SALVATION ARMY “SPIRIT AWARDS” DINNER

Tustin, CA -- Michael Reagan, eldest son of President Ronald Reagan, is the featured guest speaker at The Salvation Army Orange County Advisory Board’s Annual “Spirit Awards” Civic Dinner on Friday, May 20, 7:00 p.m.

Michael Reagan is a nationally syndicated talk radio show host. 5 million listeners hear his program, “The Very Independent Michael Reagan Show” daily. Author of several books, his latest, “Twice Adopted” is based on his Christian testimony. Reagan serves on the board for The John Douglas French Alzheimer’s Association. He has also set world records in powerboat racing. His racing has raised more than $1.5 million for charities like the Cystic Fibrosis and Diabetes Foundations and the Statue of Liberty Restoration Fund.

The 2005 “Spirit Awards” program theme is “People Matter Most!” placing an emphasis on extraordinary service to others in Orange County and/or The Salvation Army.

Award recipients are recognized for their exemplary spirit of service. Four awards are presented each year. The “William Booth” Award, named for The Army’s founder, is one of highest awards that may be conferred upon an individual. The “Others” Award honors extraordinary service to others benefiting The Salvation Army and/or Orange County communities. The “Volunteer of the Year” Award acknowledges exceptional service by an individual volunteering their time, talent and resources to improve the lives of people in their community. The “Spirit of the Army” Award is presented to an individual, group, company or corporation’s significant contribution to The Army’s programs in Orange County.
